Vlog 5 – Brooklyn & Smoke Jazz

Never thought that I would be this impressed. But I was. It was grand, enormous and overwhelming.  I’m starting to sound like a real American.

What a day, what a day. Interviewing the creative and ‘out-of-the-box-thinker’ Vivienne Aerts at Ix Cafe on Lincoln Road. A Dutch jazz singer living in Brooklyn with an interesting lifestory about music. You can look her up at www.vivienneaerts.nl

After a very nice veggie sandwich I was still contemplating what to do next. Vivienne then gave me the best tip of the day: ‘Walk over the Brooklyn Bridge’. So there I went. Through the Prospect Park, walking past the Arc de Triomphe (???) and took the subway to the impressive Brooklyn Bridge. Found me THE place to drink a bear, eat a hotdog and get the most magnificent few of the skyline all in one. If that wasn’t enough I paid a visit to the Smoke Jazz Club on Broadway. Scary as hell, but I also sang a song. Whaaa! Breaking boundaries is what this trip is all about.

Next up will be classy jazzclubs in Greenwich Village.
